Originally built by Richard Brown, the founder of Brownville,
this home started with 4 rooms in 1860. Purchased by John
Carson when Richard Brown left town, John Carson added two additions
to the home.
The Carson Home was deeded to the Brownville Historical Society
by Rose Carson on her death in 1966. The home remains much
like it was when John Carson lived and raised his family in
Brownville.
The home is especially fun to visit decorated for the Brownville
Christmas Open House in early December of each year.
