Governor Robert W. Furnas was an agricultural leader, public
speaker and editor of one of Nebraska's first newspapers.
Furnas actually lived in various homes during his time in Brownville
and this home was his retirement home. By today's standards,
few of us would like to negotiate the narrow staircase in the home
during our retirement years. The
home is open to the public and is supported by financial gifts and
the Brownville Historical Society. (Tell me more about Gov.
Furnas)
