Built in 1932 for the U. S. Army Corps
of Engineers by the Marietta Manufacturing Company, this steam
powered, side wheeled dredge boat is permanently docked by the river
that it helped to channelized from 1932 to 1969. Located at
the Brownville State Recreation Park is houses the Museum of
Missouri River History.
Visitors can view first hand the
latest engineering technology (ca 1929) as well as the impressive
brass fixtures, the dining hall, officers quarters, pilot house and
even its birds-eye view of the river.
The Meriwether Lewis
Foundation, a non-profit organization, operates this land bound boat
and her history.
