Great things are happening across Nemaha County and we want to
shout about them! Our calendar of events offers up a number of
fun things for the entire family. From the farmer's market to
the county fair, or perhaps a night at the local inn or a quiet walk
along the Steam Boat Trace, we have something to please
everyone.
Nemaha County History reaches back to the earliest days of the
Nebraska. But not all events and attractions are related to
yesterday. Perhaps you really want to hear great jazz or see a
quality theatrical production in a small setting.
Nemaha County offers all of these things and more!
Auburn
Choose from many events held in the county seat throughout the
year. If you are looking for family fun, come to the county
fair. If you'd like to sample some fresh home grown goodies,
the Farmer's Market is the place to visit. Looking for a great
steak? We have those as well!
Brownville
Whether it is the Brownville Village Theatre or the Concert
Series, Brownville offers high quality entertainment that you would
only expect to see in the "big cities". An annual
Christmas open house opens the doors to some richly decorated period
homes that are normally not open to the public. Stop and shop
at the local merchant shops and find something unique. Enjoy
history? Brownville really is a step back in time.
Peru
If you thought that Peru State College was the only thing in
Peru, Nebraska, you haven't visited for awhile. Check out the
Pick-Me-Up Greenhouse or stay at the Coleman Bed and
Breakfast. Enjoy nature hikes? Steamboat Trace is open
for your hiking enjoyment.
