May - Comedian and Country Music Festival

Let's kick off the Music in the Park concert series with stand up comedy and a country music show. Come see the best local stand up comics in Southeast Nebraska perform under the band shell along with the top country music performers in the area. The evening kicks off at 6:00 P.M. and is scheduled to conclude about 10:00 P.M. Bring your own lawn chair, blanket and jacket because after the sun goes down it will be cool.

June - Solstice Fest

The Solstice Fest kicks off a day early this year as we celebrate the longest day of the year (actually just the day with the most sunlight.) This night belongs to the teens and twenty-something crowd, but last year we had many seniors attend this fun night. Not many of us in the back row understood muck of what was going on with the music and lyrics, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway. Come see the areas finest rock bands perform live, on-stage under the band shell. This night is produced and directed by our teens. You will be amazed at what you see. Check it out dude. Special guests at this concert will be the riders from Tour de Nebraska. About 200 cyclists from all over the Midwest will be camping in Legion Park on this night. They are anxious to meet local people and exchange information with anyone wishing to stop and visit.

July - Nemaha County Fiddler's Contest

The Nemaha County Fiddlers Contest debuts this year at the Legion Park in downtown Auburn. This event will draw the best fiddlers and pickers from all over the Midwest. This is historically the hottest day of the year but it won't match the smoke these fiddlers will produce on stage. Come for an hour, come for the afternoon or come enjoy 10 full hours of toe stopin, hand clapping, rumpus bustin fun!

August - Nemaha County Talent Show

Nemaha County, Southeast Nebraska, and the quad state have long been known for high quality talent. This is the change to show off that talent in a venue designed to show off the very best. Youngster, high school, college, adult or seniors: this event will bring out individuals and groups looking to strut their stuff.

September - Gospel Fest

The most popular carry over event from last year is the true crowd pleaser on this year's slate. Sponsored by the Nemaha County Ministerial Association, the program starts earlier this year with a 1:00 PM covered dish dinner followed by music that will stimulate you. The choir and praise groups from country churches fill the park with inspirational songs guaranteed to lift you spiritually. MTV, this is not. Simply gospel music at it's best.

October - Spook Fest

The only event in the park this year not built around music, but still an evening that will not disappoint. Guaranteed to almost scare the socks of f the youngsters, but not too scary. High School kids are invited later that night for movies and popcorn in the open-air park. It absolutely will scare every teen who ventures in and stays for horror galore!

The Music in the Park Concert Series is free entertainment sponsored by the City of Auburn and the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. All events at the Music in the Park Concert Series are alcohol / drug free.
