Scenic Highway 136

Home > Nature

In April 2001, Governor Johanns unveiled a life-sized bronze sculpture of former Gov. Robert W.

Extending from Brownville, Nebraska across to Edison, Nebraska, this stretch of highway offers beautiful views, shopping, and a path to the past.

You'll pass barns, historic buildings and wonderful green fields and valleys.

Red Barn on Scenic Highway 136

Check the events calendar and you might even catch a local theatre production or enjoy a concert.  The vistas offer a glimpse into yesterday when pioneers traveled westward through southern Nebraska seeking land and a better life for their families.
